Fast Show 2016 Report
Wow. The Fast Show 2016. What a weekend! It was a huge affair and you lot turned out in your thousands. The club pitches were thriving, the track was rammed with action from start to finish and there was something going on everywhere you looked.
The Show & Shine competition played host to some immaculate cars with some neat modifications and there were some tough decisions made by the judges meaning a number of previous trophy winners walked away empty handed on this occasion. Congratulations to the overall winners who were as follows:
The competition was equally as fierce on the dragstrip with both the race classes and RWYB competitions and there was some rapid machinery seen disappearing up the ¼ mile. The Team Extreme Street eliminator cars were here for some testing and we saw 8 second passes from each of their vehicles which consisted of a Supra, GTR and Bentley GT.
We ended up with positions being settled by hundredths of a second in the RWYB competition and the results were as follows:

The serious race classes provided close racing and quick times throughout the first round of their championships.
The FWD Drag Series was ran on a 6 car field but there were a few breakages along the way. Allan Duthie clinched the top spot in qualifying thanks to the only 9 second pass of the weekend and he took 2 bye runs on his way to the final where he was due to meet James Lord. Unfortunately for Allan that’s where his dream first event came to an end as he didn’t show for the final and James Lord took the bye for the win.
Brent Crooks was number 1 qualifier in the Jap Drag Series street class in David Greenhalgh's Skyline from last year with a solid 8 second run. Brent followed up with a couple of 8.45 second passes at over 160mph which saw him round off the perfect start to the season. Brent defeated a slowing Jeff Ludgate in the final after a wayward run.
The winner of the 2016 Handling Competition for his fourth year in a row was Dmitrij Sribnyj in his Subaru Impreza.
We’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone that attended the Fast Show this weekend and we hope you enjoyed it. There was some awesome racing, and insane cars throughout. It was a massive affair with almost record numbers so unfortunately there were queues in some areas which we can only apologise for. We only have one road in and out of the venue so getting the colossal numbers through was no mean feat, especially given the ground conditions – not helped by the rain on Saturday evening. Due to the sheer volume of traffic, we know that some of you did experience delays getting in and out but rest assured, our onsite teams worked tirelessly to direct traffic as fairly and efficiently as possible. Inevitably when we have 5 lanes of traffic going into one, you can’t please everyone at the same time. We’d like to thank you for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you back here soon.
